A better way to coordinate fosters
Staff can manage foster homes, capacity, availability, emergency contacts, active placements, and placement history. Fosters do not need to navigate the full staff workspace to see what is expected for the animals in their care.
Placement is tied to the animal and foster profile, with capacity and history kept in the rescue workspace.
The Foster Portal is focused on the foster’s own animals, rather than the rescue’s staff-only management screens.
Fosters can see the rescue-provided care instructions, feeding instructions, important foster-visible notes, active alerts, and tasks due for each animal.
When a foster completes a task or adds a weight entry, the work is recorded against that foster animal so authorized staff can follow up from the same system.

How the foster phone experience works
The phone experience uses the same PetRescuePro system as the staff workspace. It is designed around a Foster Portal with simple bottom navigation: Today and My Animals.
Fosters see the rescue-configured care tasks due for the day, grouped by their assigned animals. A task can be marked complete with an optional note about what happened.
Each active placement shows the animal’s photo when available, basic details, foster start date, care and feeding instructions, foster-visible notes, active alerts, and today’s care.
The foster can enter a weight, choose the measurement date, add an optional note, and review the animal’s recent weight history. A due weight-check task can be completed from that same flow.
When the foster enables notifications on their phone, PetRescuePro can schedule the care reminders configured by the rescue and open the matching task when the notification is selected.
Phone-app status: the Foster Portal and iPhone runner are in the PetRescuePro source. Before it is distributed through Apple’s channels, it still needs Apple signing and final testing on a physical iPhone with the live rescue configuration. The browser and Windows experiences are already part of the same codebase.
